The Center for Family Businesses was established by the members of the Department of Strategy, Faculty of Business Administration, Prague University of Economics and Business. The main goals are to promote excellence in research and awareness of the field of family business in the Czech Republic.
The establisment of the Center reflects the growing importance of this academic discipline in Central and Eastern European countries, and the need for research and education that addresses the unique issues faced by family firms.
Our current areas of research are:
- Creation of a comprehensive database of family firms in the Czech Republic
- Comparing performance between family and non-family firms
- Stability of family firms
- Family goals and objectives
