Building a Vision of Sustainable FBA 2030: An Invitation
We invite you to a special meeting where we want to build a vision of Sustainable FBA 2030 together. We want to build a common vision for Sustainable FPH for several reasons. The Dean also promised to attend the meeting.
One of them is definitely the EQUIS accreditation, which is about 1/3 dedicated to sustainability and responsibility. A common vision will help us succeed in this accreditation in the long term.
Secondly, we think that FPH VŠE can lead by example and show other faculties, but also universities, how to solve sustainability problems and how to be a responsible institution in the field of higher education. We will meet at a joint meeting, which will be accompanied by a professional facilitator, in a month. Two videos will be used as a preparation.
What is a sustainable university?
Scientists have been intensively engaged in this problem for the last 20 years. This is a very young area. However, a fairly clear idea has already crystallized. Such a model sustainable university is linked to its developing global discourse on sustainability and introduces sustainable development into its core functions, namely teaching, research, collaborating with the community and general practice, and its own operations, ie managing its campus. , to shopping, to canteens, and so on. To do this, a university must have committed and competent actors who will promote sustainable development within the so-called institutional framework, ie put sustainable development in the university’s vision, mission, policies, rules and objectives.
