Winners announced of our competition for the best students‘ paper about turnaround management
The award for the best students’ paper about turnaround management organized by the Department of Strategy in cooperation with the Centre for Restructuring and Insolvency of Harry Pollak has been granted.
The best paper called “Due Diligence of ERNST LEOPOLD s.r.o. from the strategic investor’s point of view” was written by the students of secondary specialization of Turnaround Management Šimon Böhm, Alexandra Chmelíková, Matúš Melicherčík, Sára Ondříšková, and Tuan Truong Anh. The team’s representatives were awarded by the head of the Centre for Restructuring and Insolvency Ing. Lee Louda, Ph.D. during the Insolvency 2019 (preventive and early-stage restructuring) conference.
“Under the Due Diligence course we had a unique opportunity to try out working with a real data room. Thanks to the guests, such as Havel&Partners who carry out legal due diligence, insolvency practitioner Lee Louda, forensic investigator Ján Lalka or David Smejkal from the A-Consult plus consulting company, we were able to draw inspiration for our operational, business and financial analysis. We also wish to thank our mentor Michal Kuděj. Our opinion about the course is largely positive and we gained many practical experiences,” said Sára Ondříšková for the team.
The second best team were Laura Barsová, David Chudomský, and Václav Sikora with their paper “Independent business review ZOOT a.s.” The 3rd place was awarded to the seminary paper “Due Diligence of ALICO s.r.o. from the financial investor’s point of view” by Eduard Zeldin, Marián Bednarčík, and Anastasia Dugina.
The papers were assessed by a commission comprising the members of the Centre’s Scientific Board.
