Certification Programmes

How the programmes work

Depending on the desired level of competency, participants successfully complete three (3) courses from a selection of five.

The five are selected from the Centre´s current range and are based on participants´ interests.

Once a specific level is completed, it is also possible to proceed to the next in progression. To achieve the higher degree of proficiency, one or two additional courses are required. The actual number of additional, depends on the participants’ cultural field of study. Counselling is provided to assist in the selection.

Prior to registration, programme candidates meet with their future supervisor to discuss their personal and/or professional motives and goals. Through guidance and counselling, a learning roadmap is then developed.

In addition, throughout the process, the mentoring continues by scheduled meetings and on-the-job assistance.

1. Intercultural Management and Communication

To better compete in a competitive globalised business and professional environment, cultural competency is imperative.

Our courses are designed to meet these challenges and offer three levels of competency depending on the nature and circumstances of the required cultural contact:

Cultural Awareness:

  • To be “aware” signifies a very superficial or high-level appreciation of a different culture.

Cultural Appreciation:

  • To be able to “conduct” a short-term relationship such as a day meeting or E-mail communication with a different culture efficiently.

Cultural Competency:

  • To be “fluent” with a different culture that permits the individual to live and work among the host culture without anxiety.

2. Project Management

Successful project management not only involves common sense and people skills but also necessitates knowledge and methodologies, procedures, and best practices.

Our courses surpass the Iron Triangle and provide the participant with deep knowledge often absent with introductory courses based solely on theory. The curriculum comprises simulations, case studies, and hands-on applications.

The programme caters to the novice, intermediate, and advanced practitioner. Typically, the novice is a team member or junior project control officer (PCO), with less than two years project experience. Intermediate members usually have worked in teams for less than 10 years but enjoy a higher degree of project management competency. The advanced senior participant with more than ten years’ service seeks additional knowledge to gain further experience or career advancement

3. International Project Management

This programme provides the participants with the necessary tools and competencies to manage projects in a global environment. The curriculum comprises the fundamentals of not only an international perspective of project management  but equally the communication skills pertinent to a culturally diverse team.

Prior to registration, programme candidates meet with their future supervisor to discuss their personal and/or professional motives and goals. Through guidance and counselling, a learning roadmap is then developed.

In addition, throughout the process, the mentoring continues by scheduled meetings and on-the-job assistance.

This new programme is starts in September 2020.
